Dugdale Nutrition (previously known as B. Dugdale & Son and Dugdales), began producing their dog food range in the 1960’s at the old site at Waterloo, Clitheroe. When the company moved to the current site in 1980, the new Animal Feed plant was built and commenced operation. From the 1960’s onwards, Wuffitmix developed its range of dry complete dog food to suit every need and requirement of dog owners and their pets and continuously spent its budget on technological advances.

In 1987, Wuffitmix made the news with an innovative trade stand at Crufts - featuring ‘Duggie,’ an animated cartoon dog which appeared on a television screen and, using the benefits of then ‘new technology,’ captivated audiences by holding two-way conversations with them whilst praising Dugdales Meat-a-Bisk dog food. Trade enquiries followed from all over the country and the demand for Wuffitmix products from pet shops dramatically increased, with more than 40 new retail stockists in the London area.

During the 1990’s, Wuffitmix joined forces with the NCDL (National Canine Defence
League) and organised the Westminster Dog of the Year competitions. This entailed
MP’s entering their dogs in order to promote responsible dog ownership nationwide,
as well as good nutrition, regular exercise and easy identification. Rather than
judging the dogs who were entered on their pedigree, social standing or appearance.
The judges (who included Roger Dugdale & NCDL Chief Executive Clarissa Baldwin)
focused on a dogs loyalty, unique talents or any special relationships the dog may have with its owner or constituents.
In recent years Dugdale Nutrition have focused more on farm feeds. However during the current financial climate and shocking increase in pet obesity, we now feel it is time to re-launch the Wuffitmix range as it is a cost effective and a nutritious diet for all varieties of dog.
